Dental Foundation Training
London Dental Education and Training (LDET) is hosted by Health Education North West London but works pan- London to deliver high quality postgraduate education and training for London Dentists and their Teams.
Patch Associate Deans have been appointed to quality manage the dental foundation trainers and to commission and manage the study day programme for the trainees. They are also responsible for the commissioning of CPD courses for dentists and their teams in London. Two Dental Care Professional Associate Deans have also been appointed – Sam Barzagan for North London and Sandra Smith for South London. They are responsible for commissioning CPD courses for DCPs and for team training.
Each dental foundation trainee has also been allocated to one of five Trainee Support Tutors whose role is to support and guide trainees on any matter that the trainee might not want to discuss with their employer (the trainer) or the Patch Associate Dean.
Mrs Elizabeth Jones continues as Dean for Postgraduate Dentistry in London, Mr Raj Rattan will continue as Strategic Associate Dean for Primary Care and Mr Nigel Fisher continues as Associate Dean for Secondary Care.
The new team are committed to helping the dental foundation trainees in London achieve their full potential as dentists and health care workers, and to prepare them for a fulfilling and rewarding career in dentistry.
