A new look for Synapse

04 Oct 2010

London trainees key communication tool has a new look and new functionality

What is Synapse?

Synapse, a rich collection of online facilities connecting all those involved in postgraduate medical training in London. Here you can share news and information, seek advice, view documents and policies and stimulate professional discussion.

What can I do?

  • Build your own contact lists to keep throughout your training
  • Search the site for contacts, events and useful documents
  • Control the news and events you see on your Dashboard adding items of interest to your personal calendar

What else?

Message friends and colleagues with our  personal messaging system
Create news, events and discussion forums on your specialty and group pages
Access great online tools such as Nucleus, e-Portfolio, Simtics and Performance in Practice
Contribute your know-how to help others in training.

What should I be doing on Synapse?

There are a few simple but essential things you should do on the site…

Update your profile

It’s really important you get the right news on your Dashboard, so make sure your Synapse training profile is correct.

If you need anything changed, let us know on websupport@londondeanery.ac.uk.

Upload a photo!

Although we now have thousands of users on Synapse, there are still a lot of profiles without photos. And one of the reasons the site exists is to help trainers and trainees stay in touch, so we’d like you to be able to recognise each other!

It’s easy to add a photo – go to your profile page, click ‘edit’ in contact details, and upload the picture.

Take a look around Synapse

We want to make Synapse the training community it deserves to be. Take a few moments to look at the new site. Tell us what you like, and what you don’t like! Post your ideas to our online forum.

Get involved with the future development of Synapse

Development on Synapse is ongoing.  The site was built for you and we want your ideas for changes and improvements. Post your ideas to our online forum.
