Save the Date! Careers Fair, 1 - 2 October 2010

We are partnering with BMJ Careers and will be having a significant presence at the annual BMJ Careers Fair held at the Business Design Centre in Islington on 1 - 2 October 2010.

The event, the largest national medical careers fair in the country, consists of an exhibition (with exhibitors such as Royal Colleges, UKFPO etc) combined with a comprehensive seminar programme which is scheduled to run throughout the two days.

The seminar programme will be relevant to many national and London based medical students and all levels of trainees as it will include one hour workshops on topics such as presentation skills; succeeding at interview; cvs and the application process; careers planning, etc.

A number of our staff from across the deanery including Medical Workforce, Heads of School, the Careers Unit and the Coaching and Mentoring Service will be facilitating workshops.  

In addition to the exhibition and the seminar programme there will also be brief 1:1 career review sessions delivered by staff from the our Careers Unit working in partnership with colleagues from C2 (The University of London Careers Service).

The BMJ Careers Fair will showcase many other resources for careers support and our own exhibition stand will have representatives from the Careers Unit, Mentoring, STeLI, Frontier, Synapse and Medical Recruitment/Workforce, all of which contribute to the clinical educational experience in London.
