Surgery School on ITV1

A new series called ‘Surgery School’ will premiere on ITV 1 next Monday 6 September.

The programme follows ten core surgery trainees in their first year of training. It explores the personal stories of ten enthusiastic, committed and talented people at the start of their careers. 

This three part series has been produced in consultation with London Deanery and the Royal College of Surgeons.

This group of trainees, recruited in 2008, competed against 2000 other applicants to secure one of the 100 available training positions in London.

This series provides a rare insight into the intense professional and lifestyle pressures that trainees contend with in order to achieve their goals. It follows the group from their selection at interview, through their first operations and onto their ARCP assessments.

The first episode goes to air on Monday 6 September at 10.35pm.
