ACCS - Emergency Medicine

Curriculum

The emergency medicine curriculum provides a framework from CT1 through to completion of CCT after 6 years. It has been highlighted with colours to identify competencies expected by certain levels of training. The College now has a series of approved e-learning modules on www.doctors.net.uk which would be useful for all ACCS trainees

Workplace assessment forms

At least six workplace-based assessments will need to be completed during the six month EM module.  Further information can be found at the CEM website address above.  The College has issued useful advice to all trainees regarding assessments and provided individual forms which can be downloaded. There is also guidance on the clinical topics that should be covered with the assessments in this section.

Portfolio

For emergency medicine trainees there is a portfolio which includes sections on CPD, clinical logbook, workplace assessments and which needs to be completed throughout ACCS training.  

Exams

Completion of the MCEM part A is required before progression to ST 3 for all trainees currently in ACCS whose parent specialty is Emergency Medicine.
