The inaugural academic careers conference was held at Senate House on Thursday 7 March 2013.
Over 160 trainees, at all levels and from a wide range of specialties across London attended to gain insights into the options for careers in academic medicines.
With keynote speakers including Professor The Lord Darzi of Denham and Sir John Tooke, interspersed with workshops facilitated by academic leads from London's medical schools and higher education institutions, delegates were given a wide range of options to think about.
The conference finished with a networking session and marketplace where academic funders were on hand to provide advice on the range of funding options available.
We'd like to thank all those who assisted with the preparation and delivery of the conference. Feedback received so far indicates that delegates found it worthwhile and would like the opportunity to attend future pan London events.
