London Deanery Equality Objectives 2012

We are pleased to provide details of our Equality Objectives for 2012-16.

Under the Equality Act 2010, the Deanery is required to publish one or more  Equality Objectives by 6 April 2012 and one or more every four years thereafter.

The London Deanery Equality Objectives are based on those contained in the NHS Equality Delivery System and two objectives developed by the Deanery, on Professional Development Services and Operational Recruitment Services.

Between January 2012 and March 2012 the Deanery undertook a process of consultation with staff, users of Deanery services and other bodies, considering issues of equality across all protected groups, in key areas of Deanery business.

The London Deanery Equality Objectives for 2012-16 are:

• Boards and senior leaders conduct and plan their business so that equality is advanced and good relations fostered within the Deanery
• Deanery staff from all protected groups are empowered and engaged in the Deanery’s workforce, training and development activity
• To provide a cohesive and responsive Professional Development service that supports the professional development of trainees and established practitioners across London and has equality and diversity integral to all activities
• To provide world class recruitment services for general practice and hospital doctors, dentists, and other health professionals, with equality and diversity integral to all we do
