Shortlisting and Longlisting
1. What is shortlisting?
All deaneries must follow Medical Specialty Training guidelines when scoring applications. If your application passes the first stage eligibility check, you will then be assessed by consultants according to a ‘shortlisting score sheet’. A copy of this is always available on our website along with application forms.
The shortlisting score sheets have been defined against the nationally agreed person specification for the specialty.
All correctly submitted applications will be considered for shortlisting.
2. What is longlisting?
Longlisting refers to checking an applications eligibility requirements and documentation for accuracy. This is achieved by a dedicated group of staff at London Deanery.
3. When will I be contacted if I am successfully shortlisted?
Once shortlisting is complete, we will contact applicants to invite them to interview via email. Applicants should be contacted around one week before interviews with a minimum of 72 hours notice required before all interviews.
