The Royal College of Radiologists and London Deanery are coordinating national recruitment for Clinical Radiology ST1.

Clinical Radiologists are medical specialists who provide a diagnostic imaging service to patients referred to them by family practitioners and hospital doctors. They use imaging to diagnose, treat and monitor various disease processes.

Rapid advances in technology and our understanding of the features of disease on diagnostic images allow imaging to be used at earlier and earlier stages of the diagnostic process. Similarly, changes in the characteristics of disease with treatment can be detected by imaging, which is frequently used to monitor progress.

The National Clinical Radiology Recruitment Working Group

This is the second year of national recruitment for Clinical Radiology and the Working Group.
The group has representation from the College, Heads of School, Training Programme Directors, trainees and London Deanery. The following areas have been agreed:

• Scoring framework for shortlisting and interview
• Application form reviewed
• Addition of a fourth station where the portfolio will be reviewed and scored

The group will continue to meet and updates will be posted on this page.
